When you join the Canadian Authors Association, you join the
national organization. You will fit into one of t
wo possible categories, depending on your writing experience.
1) Professional membership is given to those writers who have had a certain amount of their work published. They may vote at the National Council and serve in any executive position, if elected.
2) Associate membership is given to writers who have not been published, or who are just beginning to publish. They do not have a vote at National Council and are limited in the elected positions for which they can run.
Student membership is also available at a reduced rate for full-time students. These members do not have a vote at National Council.
Professional and associate membership fees are $157.50 per year. Full-time students pay a student rate of only $50.
