Writing is step one, publishing step two, but getting your book out to the hungry throngs who absolutely long to read it is the tricky third step in the publishing process.
Writers everywhere tremble when they think of the task of garnering wide-spread publicity in a country the size of Canada. But because our organization is national in scope, the Alberta Branch remains undaunted by the prospect of getting Alberta authors the national exposure they deserve.
The Exporting Alberta Award is an annual juried award given to an Alberta branch member whose book best exemplifies excellence in writing and design.
Up to $1000.00 in funding is used to send the winner of Exporting Alberta to a separate branch of the CAA to promote their book and meet fellow members from afar. Some previous winners of this award have traveled to Toronto, Montreal and Kitchener.
The Exporting Alberta Award is designed to spotlight the talents of an exemplary Alberta author. That could be you. This contest is only open to Alberta-resident members and contract staff of CAA Alberta Branch.
