Board Member Alvin Baragar coordinated a very successful fundraiser that allows the CAA Alberta Branch to offer its members across the province a variety of programs and services for both emerging and established writers. Casino dollars make it possible to bring out-of-town presenters to our workshops such as Zsuzsi Gartner, Lisa Moore and Don Gillmor; engage Writers-in-Residence in southern and central Alberta; and offer a Writers in Schools Program that supports writers and has, over the years, benefited students from Grand Prairie to Medicine Hat. Every single person who committed to volunteer during this important weekend of fundraising brought a level of enthusiasm and reliability that is sincerely appreciated. Writers helping writers. That is who we are. That is what we do.
